How to Care for Your Neoprene Wetsuit?
Step 1: Rinse Your Neoprene Wetsuit
Between sessions, thoroughly rinsing your wetsuit with fresh water is essential! After each use, it is recommended to hang your wetsuit in the shade if you are on a boat. If you are on the beach, rinse your wetsuit in seawater for 5 to 6 seconds and then place it in a bag. Do not expose it to sunlight while it dries.
Step 2: Wash Your Neoprene Wetsuit
Clean it using a garden hose or soak it in a bathtub/basin. This is important to remove salt that has accumulated on the neoprene and the zippers. Perform this operation on both the inside and outside of the wetsuit.

If you frequently engage in water sports with a neoprene wetsuit, you can use a detergent specifically designed for this material about once a week. These products are essential for prolonging the lifespan of your neoprene items while maintaining their flexibility and softness. Soak your wetsuit for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water on both the inside and outside of your wetsuit.

Step 3: Drying Neoprene
To dry your neoprene, use a suitable hanger that is wide and made of plastic, as wood can easily deteriorate with use. Should it be hung by the shoulders? Not ideal! Why is this not suitable for a neoprene wetsuit? Simply to avoid stretching it. When wet and extended, the entire weight of the wetsuit rests on the shoulders. It is recommended to fold it in half at the waist. This drying phase is quicker and allows the wetsuit to last for several more years.
The worst enemy of your neoprene is sunlight. UV rays are harmful to your wetsuit. Therefore, during the drying phase, it is best to choose a shaded area.
