Cat (girlfriend) and I spent a couple days diving on the vandenberg in the last couple months. We shot some video with the new gopro camera and it came out pretty decent. One of the days the vis was great, the other day it was good enough. No spearfishing at all in the video, diving relatively shallow maybe 60 feet tops. Fish are still really hit and miss on the wreck, maybe because there isn’t a robust grunt population on it yet for food.
Pretty sweet to able to dive that huge wreck so easily from my house. Of course the vis and current are so iffy on it, it’s pretty rare for it to be good for freediving.
